if barnes and noble goes out of business…?

I just learned that Barnes and Noble is going out of business! They sold their company! … I guess it really isn’t a shock, what with the internet, and the ereaders and all…but still! Nothing will ever beat physically reading a book! Anyway, what I really wanted to know is, if barnes and noble goes under, does that mean that the nook will go under as well? Will they stay online, or completely shut down? Also, should I get a Nook if they are shuttiing down?

They are not out of business. They are considering selling their business and looking at many different options. If they sell the business someone will likely pick up the Nook because it’s already an established brand. They will probably start unloading their vast empire of brick and mortar stores because of the shift towards digital media.

The competition with Kindle and iPad is killing their profitability. It’s very likely we could see the end of the Barnes and Noble brand in the near future. This is very sad because I like real books and I like browsing in a real book store.
