Buying Ereader Books

Has anyone purchased the LookBook ereader?
I bought a LookBook ereader last night. According to the paperwork, it’s supposed to have 25 books preloaded, but it says no books found. I tried to call customer service, but they are only open Monday – Friday. I submitted the question on the customer support section of their website. Anyone else had this problem? If so, how was it resolved?
Update! After doing a factory reset, the preloaded books showed up. I downloaded the desktop application onto my PC, but couldn’t get it to sync with the Lookbook. I took it to a friend’s house that had WiFi, and presto-chango! It had to download some updates and will now sync like it should. I love it!!!
It’s possible that the books might not have been preloaded in the first place. Be sure to calI them tomorrow if an answer doesn’t come by email. I also bought the Lookbook, and to be honest, I think it’s much better than the Kindle. It’s fast, full color and big for a small price and I suggest you do not give up on it.
Many of the books, such as The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes and Treasure Island are available in the Kobo Store for free. Just go to the store tab on your Lookbook, set up Wi-Fi and make a Kobo account (if you didn’t already). Then just search the books by title.

Electronic Books, an Introduction to Reader Ebooks
Electronic Books If Gutenberg could see how electronic books, or ereader books, have evolved in the last years, he would want to come back from the afterlife and test this revolution in the book industry.
After having turned upside down, the music, the videogames, and the motion picture industries, digital download technologies and the reader ebook have introduced a major change in how we are reading and learning as human beings.
But how does a reader ebook work? How did it start?
As a first step, it is important to say, that electronic ebooks have been existing almost since the the first personal computer was created and some one decided to copy the content of book into a text file and share it with others computers users. Then with the rise of internet, the books started to be scanned and illegally exchanged over newsgroups, torrents and other file swapping services. Usually in the PDF format, the electronic books would be read on computers or personal digital assistants. During those times, a group of users decided to compile all royalty free books available on the net, in a website called project Gutenberg.
- The main book publishers saw that the digital formats had some benefits, not only for the reader, but also for the publisher, as it was less expensive to manufacture, replicate and release than its counterpart paper ones.
- Meanwhile the technology evolved dramatically, mainly in the capacity to produce screens with more contrast, less energy consumption and a good viewing capacities. It was inevitable that some one would eventually create a gadget specifically to be used in reading ebooks.
- What is required to make a reader ebook really work? Basically a good screen with a good resolution and good contrast, and a good memory capacity to store as many books as the reader might want to have.
When readers finally saw a reader ebook that looked good and was easy and comfortable to use, stores hundred of books in memory, and came with a long battery life, they started to fly off the shelves.
New versions, like the Kindle reader, have included wireless connectivity and allows for online downloading of books, synchronization of contents across multiplatforms, newspapers and other sources of online information.
