What’s the best website to educate myself about ereaders?

I know almost nothing about ereaders. I’m interested in having one but don’t know anything about the cost involved in buying one or expenses after I purchase one. I also understand they have multiple purposes but don’t know what best suits me personally. Most websites I’ve seen either seem to have outdated products or don’t really go into why I need wifi or who sells the best ebooks. Also lots of websites seem to have biased opinions and push one brand harder than others. I don’t want to overspend or get a lot of feautures I won’t use. Anybody have any helpful advice or know any info sources? Thanks–
Also I get a lot of my reading material from used book stores to keep my cost down so is an ereader really something for me anyway?

First of all, there really is no such thing as a “discounted” ebook. Amazon is arguable the store with the largest catalog and best prices, but frankly, seldom if ever you’ll find an ebook for less than $6.

From the sounds of it, what you would need right now is a basic dedicated ebook reader, nothing fancy, e-ink so that it doesn’t hurt your eyesight. Check out the Kobo, which is on sale for $99 online (or with a coupon at brick and mortar Borders). It’s pretty straightforward to use, and covers all basic needs for an ebook reader. I own several ebook readers, btw, as I have been reading ebooks since 2003. I got the Kobo on sale for my sister, who is new to ebooks. I am loading it with several books from my personal connection, and I think she will like it. It’s quite lightweight.

If budget is a concern, well, as I mentioned above, there really is no such thing as discounted ebooks as it pertains to work published by the renowned publishers.
